“As I see it, our job is to exceed the client’s expectations and part of that is to always try and find a way to meet their requests and realise their vision for a project no matter how challenging.”
“When I look at our team and see the standard and quality of what they are delivering on site – that’s really satisfying.”
“I have a background as a qualified architect. I enjoy the variety of work in my role at Cheevers Poole – from analysing and reviewing information, proposing alternative partition systems, and cross-checking a package of consultants’ drawings. It is an exciting role.”
Technical Services Director
“Working at Cheevers Poole has allowed me to expand my personal professional skills and horizons in a way I have never had in previous companies. I have been allowed to pursue and develop personal passions for the growth of the company and take on new responsibilities and rolls outside the confines of the job title. The value that the company places in the individual has also provided me with the space and support to see the development and elevation of all those within my team. Cheevers Poole is a company that really cares about its people, it doesn’t just say that.”
“Looking back over the last three years, the energy and excitement that I felt on my first day have only grown. The people I am working with are great, knowledgeable, and passionate about the work we do. We are lucky to work on such amazing projects with professional teams that are innovative and passionate about the ‘homes’ they are creating. It makes coming to work exciting and enjoyable. There is a real sense of teamwork with shared knowledge across all projects and the pride of what we deliver is plain to be seen on all of our faces. Our people constantly strive to find new and improved ways to deliver a high-quality product to the homeowner, working collaboratively with the professional teams to find solutions rather than problems.”
Small Works & After Care Director
“I’m extremely proud of how the Small Works & After Care team has progressed, we have built a very strong team where everyone supports one another. I would like to thank everyone involved for their support and for the opportunities over the last 4 years. Looking forward to many more years to come!”
Little can ever prepare you for what a listed building demands and holds. Every floorboard, window, brick, stair and moulding can tell a story that is steeped in historic significance and its heritage protected in perpetuity. This is what I enjoy most about my work here. Without people like us, or companies like Cheevers Poole, historic refurbishment would be few and far between.
“I started out as a QS for the company 6 years ago and immediately felt welcome by all. There were only a very small number of employees at the time, but everyone was close-knit and helpful. I have enjoyed working with a team of talented professionals, having the support of management and Directors, and having the flexibility to pursue my own interests.”
“My five years at Cheevers Poole have been a huge challenge and great journey of development. The support from my superiors has always been positive and encouraging, and I have always felt trusted and responsible. Feeling like I can contribute to the business in a capacity broader than just the scope of my project is something I take great fulfillment from.
I generally enjoy the collaboration that comes with my role; working with lots of people from such a wide range of disciplines – and usually being the one at the centre of that – is a big challenge but it’s good fun. It usually leads to learning something new, which I love. The very tangible nature of what we do, and perhaps the glamorous element of it – working with such historic properties etc – means it’s something that’s very easy for people to relate to when you’re talking about it. I like what I do and so I like talking about it.”
“Cheevers Poole is the first company that I have worked for that I genuinely feel part of something great. It is like one big family that looks out for one another. I can see myself being here for a very long time.”
Whoops! Something went wrong.
